Countdown to the TEAs 2025

In 2024 we launched the Hall of Fame at the TEAs live event, to recognise and honour some of the people who have helped make the Tenerife entertainment scene what it is today.

This year we inducted three more people who, or people on their behalf, were presented with plaques to commemorate the occasion and to thank them for their services to the scene.

Name: Billy mcCracken
Inducted: 9th November 2025

Billy left Wexford in the late 80s and came to Tenerife ending up in Molly Malones Bar, which was downstairs in Veronicas.
It was here that he became renowned for being one of the best musicians on the island creating magic with keyboards that no-one else could do.
During his time on the island he has played in several bands and bars, before having his own bars in the form of the Shamrock and Christy O’Connors.
More recently he has been the resident at Paddy O’Kellys in Las Americas, still entertaining holidaymakers of all ages in his own special way, until he had a stroke in October 2024.
Billy being Billy took it all in his stride, despite setbacks with his recovery.
We all hope to see him making music again very soon.

Name: David Ormrod aka Crystal Starr
Inducted: 9th November 2025

David came to Tenerife in October 1994 to be the resident at the Wigan Pier in Starco, which is where Crystal Starr was born!
He was more than a performer — he was a showstopper. His style of drag was unique, sharp witted, insulting, but fun, no one or any subject was off limits, and he was the master at it, receiving an outstanding contribution award in the year 2008.
Everyone knew both Dave & Crystal, and many came to the island to visit the Wigan Pier, and later on Crystals Show Bar in The Patch - as there was never a dull moment when Crystal was around!
Tenerife became Davids home for over 30 years, until he sadly passed away in July 2025, aged just 63

Name: Dee Daniels
Inducted: 9th November 2025

Dee moved to Tenerife in the early 90s working as a holiday rep, before making the transition onto stage and becoming a singer.
In 1998, Dee was asked by Failte to host a St Patricks Day party in Las Americas, which then grew into a huge annual event at Pleasure Island and Exit Palace, with parades and international acts, and culminated into a 4,000 strong event at Sky Park in Torviscas.
She was also part of the Tenerife 6 who were the first to do online shows during Covid, and raised thousands for various charities.

Name: David Elliott
Inducted: 17th November 2024

David moved to Tenerife in the mid-90s as the resort manager for Thomson Holidays, and produced one of the most successful shows at Exit Palace, Legends of Broadway, which even starred Mick Miller every Thursday.
After this he became the owner of Leonardos bar with his family for almost 15 years, the home of the Wild Boyz and several other successful acts.
Unfortunately, David passed away in September 2024 after a short illness.

Name: Robbie Dominic
Inducted: 17th November 2024

After several years on the club circuit in the north of England, Robbie moved to Tenerife in 1996 as one half of Slam with Suzy Q.
During this time Robbie not only got known for this and his solo shows, particularly his 80’s show, but also for being one of the most, if not the most popular presenters on Oasis Fm with Robbie on the Rock every Saturday and Sunday morning.
He continued doing both on the circuit for the 25 years before retiring in 2022.

Name: Greg James
Inducted: 17th November 2024

After having several successful pubs in the north east, Greg and wife Sue opened the Hole In The Wall in the mid-90s, when there was literally nothing else in Parque La Paz.
This bar has become an Irish institution with not only some well-known local acts such as Michael Graham, and of course Fergal Flaherty being residents, but international stars including Daniel O’Donnell, Chris Kamara, and even Cliff Richard making it their home.
Greg was also involved in major fund-raising, particularly with golf tournaments, and there is now an annual tournament every May in his honour.

Name: Terry Rowley
Inducted: 17th November 2024

Terry is the ex-manager of Dexys Midnight Runners who had a music career that spanned 6 decades. He plays 5 instruments and was in bands with legends such as Roy Wood before joining forces with Steve Powell, to create a comedy duo Two Risky in the mid-80s.
Two Risky moved to Tenerife in 1989 and were resident in bars such as Amanda's and St Eugene's amongst others, before making the Drunk’n Duck their home in 1994 which he co-owns wityh wife Sue (pictured).
Steve passed away in the early 2010s, but Terry continued at the Duck with Mark Skelton, until retiring in 2019 aged 75.

Name: Phil Fletcher
Inducted: 17th November 2024

Phil moved to Tenerife in the early 90s from Blackpool with Tony Bailey, his partner in the legendary comedy duo, Kracka.
They delighted hundreds of thousands of holidaymakers in bars across the south of the island for more than 20 years, especially at Harlequinns where they were resident with their own unique brand of comedy, music, and who will ever forget those Mick Jagger lips!

Name: Colin Gibb
Inducted: 17th November 2024

Colin had songs that changed our lives, particularly at parties. Colin joined a band called Black Lace in 1976 and they represented the UK at Eurovision in 1979 finishing 7th.
In 1983 they released a song called Superman which was followed by another called Agadoo, and the rest as they say is history. After numerous tours, TV appearances including Top of The Pops and even Spitting Image, Colin decided to make Tenerife his home and continued to wave the Black Lace flag with Gordon King until retiring in May 2024.
Unfortunately Colin passed away shortly after leaving the Agadoo legacy for us to enjoy forever.
